DIY PRINCESS CROWN FROM FOAM

Saraya's first birthday princess crown...gitu!!!

i was having a hard time on deciding whether i should use felt or foam...im not that good with sewing u know...so i decided i should choose something that u can just staple or glued it..heee

materials needed
1. foam
2. pom pom balls
3. UHU glue (it is famous in Malaysia to use UHU...haha)
4. ornaments ( i used blue and red gemstones)
5. lace ( up to u what kind of lace u wanna use)

so this is how my princess crown looks like... but need a lil bit of touch up..

1. first i cut the foam into a princess crown ( a bit horrible my cutting skills...you can choose any pattern u prefer to do)

2. then u just add up some gemstone ( like this pic) or depends on your creativity..

see...the cutting is not even...hahah

3. then...i glued the lace in the middle and sew pom pom balls ( i have to sew it cu it wont stay at place if i just glued it)

this is how my princess crown looks like.. 

There!!!very simple one for our simple daughter!!

Just a few more touch up then it will be the most beautiful crown i've made...hahah...u will see the complete one during Saraya's birthday

HOW MOTHERHOOD TREATS ME :)

So today is 16 of February 2015... Almost 9 months and 2 weeks of me living a life as a mother to my daughter, Saraya... and what has change so far... 

COMPLETELY EVERYTHING....

How massive the changes are??

In every aspect of my life... how shall i say this... from waking up till bed time till tomorrow till like there is not a single second of not thinking about your baby...

there is no exact word to describe Motherhood....All mothers have their own definition of being one...

For me...being a mother is like going through four seasons....it's sometimes summer...sometimes winter...sometimes spring...sometimes autumn... i live in each seasons although in Malaysia we don't have four seasons :)

It is Summer because my life never running out of the warmth cozy sensation every time i kiss and hugs my Saraya... her warmth blanketed your chilly days... her waking up face is warmer than the ray of  sun glazing through your window...

It is Winter because when Saraya cries everything freeze!!!!the only things that clear is her cries and you know u gotta stop what you are doing and attend to her cries!! It is winter because her laughter and smiles freezes every thing that troubles you :)

It is Spring because everyday i smell and see the beauty of nurturing and taking care of a beautiful flower... My Dandelion...My Daffodil...My Rose...My Lily...My Tulips... She embodies all flowers blooming beautifully and beautiful she will be :) 

And it is Autumn because each milestones that your baby leaves embark a new journey or phases in your life :)

And that defines my motherhood cycles which i thank God every single day for giving me the opportunity for at least cruising it :)

I shall dismiss with a phrase i kept in my mind the first time i laid my eyes on Saraya and shall hold it close to my heart

" My breath is yours now Forever and Ever "

KENAPA SENSORY AKTIVITI PENTING UNTUK PERKEMBANGAN ANAK ANDA

Okay...so today im gonna use my National Language....ehemmm...ehemmm.,

Hai...Saya suka buat sensory games untuk anak saya Saraya sebab saya rasa ia menarik dan murah dan colourful...setakat ni dah banyak juga sensory activities saya dah buat untuk Saraya..memang waktu mula-mula buat rasa pelik dan ntah apa apa rasenye sebab bukan custom orang kite buat sensory activities....ada....tapi tak ramai....so saya pun cube la..mana tahu kan..

Tak sangka plak sensory activities ni seronok...sebab kite pun tumpang sekaki main sekali ngan anak kite...kat sini saya list down skit ape sensory activities yang saya dah buat sehingga Saraya umur 9 bulan ni dan kepentingan sensory aktiviti...

Antara kepentingan sensory activities ialah membantu perkembangan baby baby kita especially in generating creativity and membantu membina perkaitan antara satu bende dengan bende yang lain...lebih kurang la..saya bukan pakar kanak-kanak tapi based on books yang saya baca :)

Sensory ni lebih kurang Food for our babies' brains laaaaaaaa.... and then die macam Problem Based Learning punye method...cume dalam bentuk fun skit...saya suke tengok laman web omputih sebab memang banyak ideas kat sana...website melayu pun ade rasenye...and then kalau nak adapt ideas depe boleh jugak sebab ada sesetengah bende takde kat Malaysia...lagipun saya buat sensory aktiviti ni setiap weekends je memandangkan isnin-jumaat keje opis hour.

Sensory ni membantu Fine Motor Skills anak-anak kita ..based from this excerpt ni ' Fine motor skills are important for writing, shoe-tying, buttoning and zipping, among other things. Sensory play often involves using and building fine motor skills by exploring things using pinching, pouring and lacing movements'

Pastu Sensory activity ni boleh alihkan perhatian anak kite yang ada sikap suke marah-marah..menyendiri...macam mana tu erk??ah...bile kita ajak anak kite main sensory...at the same time kite build level of confidence die...contoh macam kite bagi die playdough and then suruh die bine ape saje...bile die bina..kite compliments or kite betulkan sikit sikit error die macam kalau die buat muke orang gune playdough...pastu muke orang tu masam...kite mesti tanya die...kenapa muke orang tu masam...why not make a happy face...Eh...kat situ dah boleh ajar anak kita untuk sharing emotion :) kire sensory ni macam ada calming effect la...

Remember sensory bukan semata-mata bende yang anak-anak kite touch...taste saje...tapi semua termasuk feelings :) 

Okay...here are the so far activities that i had done with Saraya...senang jerk...tak perlu kos banyak...boleh cube...

1.

Saraya 6 bulan - main grass...bawa je kat padang mana-mana...make sure lepas tu basuh la badan die betui betui...yg bestnye...die takde nak makan grass tu... hehehe

 

2. 

Squishy bag Saraya waktu die umur 6 bulan - tujuan untuk bagi die geget geget..tapi make sure die takde gigi lagi la time tu...kalau tak habis semua gel masuk mulut...BAHAYA! Gune la plastik yang mahal skit..pastu gel rambut yang murah sebab kome kene letak banyak gel dalam ni...then letak bende yg kecik kecik tak tajam...pastu seal tepi tepi gune ducktape :) bende ni boleh relieve anak-anak yang nak tumbuh gigi

3.

Saraya waktu umur 7 bulan - buat footprint sendiri(consider sensory la ni) tapi memang agak susah le sebab die banyak bergerak...kome perlukan suami kome atau adik beradik nak tolong set up semua :) pastu basuh leklok erk kaki anak kome.. teman gune washable paint..pastu teman framekan foorptint kaki die ni :) lebih kurang dah jadi keepsake la. tp die sedar tau ade bende asing kat kaki die sebab die asyik nk tgk kaki die jerk...pastu buat muke macam tak suke

Saraya at 6 Months - aktiviti ais kaler-kaler ( gune le food colouring kacau kat dalam air...then masuk air dalam freezer...jadiler ais kaler kaler ) tapi satu kekurangan food colouring ialah...die memang keluar warna gile-gile pekat sampai berapa kali kene basuh tgn si kecik ni... tapi best aktiviti ni..sebab sambil main ais tu...letak paper plain tebal kat food tray die..and then die akan bawa ais batu die ke kiri ke kanan dan lukis something.. cume bile paper ni kering...warna tadi tak berapa pekat la...tapi memang seronok buat ni...sebab anak sedara yang sorang tu pun join...hehehe

5.

 

Bubbless!!!!!!!!!!!ni waktu die umur 6-7 bulan le...memang takde banyak facial expression tapi bile die touch and the bubbles explode..die akan pandang teman...macam nak cakap "kenapa meletup mama??(rasenye itulah kot die nak cakap) ..memang ini pas balik keje terus main ngan die...sian die duk rumah takde keluar...okay bubbles leh buat sendiri atau beli je kat taman...ape benefit main bubbles erk ?

BANYAK! salah satu improve kemahiran mengesan..macam mana? ye la...bile bubbles tu pergi ke sana sini kome tak perasan ke mata anak kome pun mencari bubbles-bubbles tu?heheh

Lagi - waktu tengah tiup bubble...kome letupkan lah bubbles tu dengan tgn ke...kaki ke...pastu cakap kuat-kuat kat anak kome macam "Adik...mummy gonna letupkan with mummy's fingers!" dah kirenye macam mengajor anak kome bercakap...eh..penting tau berkomunikasi ngan anak-anak...walaupun orang lain pandang kome macam kome orang gile...tapi kome buat jer...sebab ade benefit cakap ngan baby kome...kan dalam Islam pun dah disuruh kite bersembang ngan baby dalam perut...maknenye ade la kelebihan die. :)

6.

Simple Water Play...ni pun waktu die umur 6 bulan...pakaikan die baju...supaya the fun is there...hehe..letak baking tray...nak dudukkan die ke..baringkan...tak kisah...ikut kome la..pastu letak le mainan sikit dalam tray tu,,,pastu the fun begins!memang dia akan splash tak henti-henti sampai BANJIR satu rumah!!malangnye...esok selsema...haha...okey..antara kelebihan main air selain mandi untuk bersih ialah 'it sets the foundation by preparing the brain for more complex concepts in math and science' jadi...biarkanlah kalau anak-anak nak main air,,,genius tau budak-budak main air ni..lagi satu katekan kome letak sponge and anak kome squeeze the water kan...then kome kate owh...u can squeeze the water out from the sponge...die tahulah ade setengah bende meresap dalam air dan boleh resap ( ah...kirenye platform nak jadi genius la) heheheh

Saraya umur 7-8 bulan - Main Dough....memang senang gile buat...letak tepung ngan air....wakakak...jadila...pastu die boleh uli uli ke...smash ke...ade satu part kat sini bile Saraya pegang then die pegang kuat skit..tepung tu terus berderai-derai jadi serbuk balik and she loves that part...so dia akan amik yang teman dah jadikan dalam bentuk bola-bola ni...sebab die nak hancurkan balik...so die learn a new concept here ( few things are fragile )...

 
8.

Saraya umur 8-9 bulan...dah steady skit duduk unattended ...Main Pom-Pom...( memang kene tgk betui-betui...takut die makan pom-pom tu) ... okay...so main pom-pom ni syok and memang messy setakat nak kemas balik jerk...sebab dia akan amik semua cuba kaut the baling merata - rata...yang jadi lecehnye bukan seba Saraya...tapi sebab kucing kiteorg yang suke sangat mengacau and cuba makan pom-pom tu...banyak cara boleh main pom-pom...kalau anak besar skit...boleh suruh die letak pom pom dalam bakul..pastu kite main la masak-masak pom-pom tu....buat tea party ke...and then boleh buat macam-macam la dengan pom-pom ni...buat jadi macam Eric The Very Hungry Caterpillar...pastu sembang-sembang la ngan anak kome...(asyik suruh bersembang je kan..maklumlah saya memang suke bersembang ngan anak saya...rasa happy walapun die tak balas balik)

 9. 

Main Oat!!!!!! ni waktu die dah umur 9 bulan....tapi die tak berapa suke main oat...mungkin sebab texture die kasar-kasar skit...penat dah menaip ni...nanti kome cari sendiri la benefit die erk...tapi nak main bende alah ni...cari Oat...pastu buiat dua bekas...satu Oat kasar...satu lagi kisar Oat tu jadi halus...so nnt die akan choose which texture die suke...so mcm Saraya...die choose the hancus one :)

Ah...ni aktiviti yang paling diminati oleh si cupcake ni : Main Tarik Tisu...ahhh...beli la satu kotak tisu...bagi la anak kome...pastu tgklah ape die boleh buat...memang die boleh tarik and selagi ade tisu selagi tu die tarik...part paling best bile die cuba masukkan muke die dalam kotak tisu tu.. so she learns the concept of PULL....and PUT....konsep PULL senang diajar...tapi konsep PUT BACK...agak susah la...haha...sebab kite masukkan balik tisu kan...so die macam marah skit sebab die suke tgk bende yang berselerak :)

Okay last one walaupun banyak lagi...sakit jari dah menaip...ni main Fluffy Foam...Buih Sabun je dalam Bahasa Melayu la....saya guna Sabun Baby's Johnson yang tear free...pastu whipped la sabun ngan air sampai jadi macam ni...sakit tgk mengkome!!jenuh memutar nak bagi berbuih macam ni...ah..yang penting sekali ialah jangan tinggalkan anak kome tanpa pengawasan erk...takut dia makan buih nanti...jenuh kome nak menjawab kat klinik bgtahu kome bagi die main buih :)

Jadi...tamatlah kronologi main sensory aktiviti setakat ini...bakal banyak lagi nanti...cume ade beberapa isu la yang perlu kite alert sikit...first dari segi safety sebab homemade activity takde cop Safe semua tu...so memang kite kena keep our eyes 24-7 dekat anak kite ye sepanjang depe main ni...bolehlah nak amik gambar...tapi set aside la 3 kliks sahaja pastu pay full attention to ur baby...

and then lagi...lepas dah buat aktiviti yang macam kotor skit...basuh betui betui anak kite....contohnye macam dah lepas main grass atau buih-buih kan...basuh and mandikan betul-betul...

ntah...rasenye tu je la...tp Alhamdullilah setakat buat sensory aktiviti ngan Saraya ni...takdelah ape ape yang tak diingini berlaku...so selamat mencuba ye..

ANOTHER MESSY PLAYTIME...

When we see a messy baby or kids...we will always say the mother of the kids do not know how to look after them...

BUT...

Little that we know....a messy kid who is playing with mud...or even spread the whole chocolate on her face is actually learning MORE than a very tidy kid....

We often scolded our kids of the dangers playing with mud...the sand...or anything that related to MESSINESS!!! but we have forgotten how we used to play through the rain...running our finger  through the sticky sand.... playing with grasses.....

WHY WONT WE LET OUR KIDS BE KIDS???

I have to say i am a strong believer in letting my daughter exploring messiness....so if im making a very messy activities....it is definitely MESSY!!!

The ingredients : carrots+flour, dragonfruit+flour and blueberries+flour...however the blueberries do not really creates blue colour...hahah

I can see the future of my education...

And everything else...

because I'm a firm believer in

A HAPPY FAMILY MAKES AN EXCELLENT FOUNDATION IN ANYTHING...

I don't care if  others pursue their master or phd...

I don't care if  others  already advanced their career...

I don't care if others already earning more than 6k...

I dont for now...

I dont wanna chase things that is just temporarily stay..

and ignore gifts that God gives to me...

And because nowadays life is too short...

I just wanna enjoy the quality time with Le Familia...

Ever heard of a phrase 'Whatever theirs now are not meant for you now'

so...im just gonna chill my precious time with my state of happiness and just wait for these advancement later in my life...

perhaps once Saraya is quite big :) ill go and chase my other dreams

SIMPLE RICE PLAY

Well Hello There!!!!

I have been quite busy few weeks then...so today just gonna update my blog with what i did during last last weekends...

as always...i will try to browse fun at home with kids because there most of the ideas are simple and very easy...u dont even have to buy most of the stuffs...simple dig somewhere inside ur house...

so there is a post entitled simple sensory games and one of it is Rice Play...it is so simple and so cool because it will also attract ur pet to join!

im not so good with speech...so let the pics do the talking

p/s : i played this with Saraya before my husband came home and the house wasss a little bit messyyyyyy

so i put few spoonful of rice into a baking tray and some of Saraya's shape sorter :) She immediately grab those rice!!! just watch her fingers

THEN.......................

aaahhhhhhh...the texture feels a bit rough...( i think that is what going inside her mind)

She put her fingers into the baking tray and let her fingers running through...amazing that she did not try to eat those rice :)

gotcha!! what are u guys actually...so thin and small yet does not look tempting at all..

Well...they do not look so tempting because they havent been coloured dear Saraya...
My daughter was trying her very best to investigate it...

Let it go! Let it go! and see what happens!!! the very curious face of my cheeky Saraya :)

Looks like an entity is trying to double up the fun!! owh...thats my cat...his name is Tiger....he tried to play along...but i shoooshhhh him coz he might gonna kill himself with all those rice!! Saraya did not even bother Tiger's existence because she is in her own world now....
